A cloth sack carried on your back and held over the shoulders is called a backpack. A backpack is used to carry loads that are too heavy for hands to carry for a long time. Backpacks are commonly used by travelers, especially leisure travelers for outdoor trekking. There is also the urban backpacker. These are popular as they increase mobility while also being compact.
